We’ll Miss you

Hey!

Here’s the first song, ‘We’ll Miss You’ off the new album, Ancestor’s Wheel (out September 27). Recorded in Topanga, January 2023, first take feels. So many key roles that music and songs fulfill in healthy culture. This is an honor song, for anyone. The first verse I remember visiting a bunch of times where it rested on the back porch. I knew each time I read, I needed to sing it and bring forth. The last verse came while we were playing.

Marigolds are used to “honor and remember loved ones who have passed away. Marigolds are also seen as a way to offer comfort to the souls of the deceased, as their vibrant petals and earthy fragrance are said to be pleasing to the spirits”

Enjoyed playing this song with my friends, in the moment and working on it in the timber frame. Hope you enjoy – Matthew

When I lived in Topanga, I very serendipitously met a Tai Chi / Qigong instructor / musician named Bill Fiorella. He was deep into herbal medicine and Traditional Chinese medicine. We had lived somewhat parallel lives having spent time and giving focus to very similar pursuits in our search for wisdom. We were brothers who had finally met. Bill eventually signed me to his start…
